My name is Koen Bakker, 25 years old and living in The Netherlands. I'm a visual artist.

Ever since I was a kid I wanted to create posters for my bedroom. This desire along with my fascination for science fiction cinema have always been a driving force for me to create.

I can utilize a bunch of tools but lately the focus tends to be on digital art, collages and photography. I strive to bring the best of my work in (large printed form) to the world. I feel like I've got a galaxy of creative ideas that could be expressed. Often I try to do things just a little different than where I think it's going. Or just go overboard and see what happens! I love to let the boy in me do all the decision making.

Influences are many; HR giger (Alien), Masamune Shirow (Ghost in the Shell), DJ-XX09, Heringa/Van Kalsbeek, Gregory Crewdson, Clive Barker (Hellraiser, Books of Blood), James Cameron (Terminator), Kiefer, Ridley Scott (Blade Runner), Luis Royo, etc. Often it'll be snippets of ideas or other peoples fantasies, run through my own filter. My interests play a part too.

These interests include:

Synthesizers (electronic music production), UFO's , VJ-software, EBM, Psytrance, bit of Heavy metal/ Rock, erotic (fetish) art, some Anime, Beat-em up video games, web design, parties and people who follow their dreams !
